Hello, I am Maria
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat currently based in Barcelona, Spain.
Some years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Novelona Prism
Online information was mostly corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site DOES:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site DOESN'T:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Barcelona or anywhere in Spain, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Maria
